Synopsis
Berlangsung satu tahun sebelum Zentraedi tiba di Bumi, Macross Zero mengisahkan hari-hari terakhir perang antara UN Spacy dan kelompok anti-UN. Setelah ditembak jatuh oleh pesawat tempur terbaru anti-UN, ace pilot Shin Kudo menemukan dirinya di pulau terpencil Maya, di mana teknologi hampir tidak ada. Sementara Shin tetap di pulau itu untuk menyembuhkan luka-lukanya, tiba-tiba ketentraman pulau ini hancur oleh pertempuran yang melibatkan pesawat tempur terbaru UN- VF-0.
